Application
All surfaces should be cleaned prior to application with an appropriate
cleaner liquid f. e. alcohol. The sign films of INTERCOAT are easy to weed out
and thus are well suited for use in vinyl cutters. Large lettering and graphics
may be covered with application tape in one piece which is available at
INTERCOAT in six different versions.
If the lettering or graphic covers a large area a wet application may be
required to apply a wrinkle free film. For a wet application a light film of wa
ter with lowered surface tension (f. e. soap solution) may be sprayed onto the
surface. The water between the film and substrate has to be squeezed out
with a squeegee also available at INTERCOAT. Due to INTERCOAT adhesives
being exclusively water based most commercial remover liquids will
neutralize easily the adhesive with the additional advantage of cleaning the
underlying surface with the remover acting as detergent
.
